Akoya Cultured Pearls- are saltwater pearls which are cultivated from the oysters primarily in China and Japan. Renowned for their luster.They generally white or cream colored with overtone colors of rose, yellow, or green. They came from the smallest pearl-producing oyster, the Akoya oyster. Ranging in sizes 2-11 mm.That's the reason that they are kind of rare in larger sizes and very collectible.They are mostly round or near round pearls, making them very ideal in making into jewelry pieces.

Freshwater Cultured Pearls- are pearls cultured from oysters found in freshwater lakes and rivers in the United States of America, China and Japan.

South Seas and Tahitian Pearls- South Sea pearls are mostly found in Australia, while Tahitian pearls are from Tahiti, Polynesia. They are larger in sizes and the most valuable pearls.
